In recognition of its outstanding workplace and investment in people, Intrinsic Technology has been awarded 2 star status in Best Companies Accreditation 2010 for the second year running.
Competition was fierce for accreditation with a record 1086 organisations entering this year, representing 270,000 employees from the private and public sectors. The scheme follows a ‘Michelin star’ system with one star for ‘first class’, two stars for ‘outstanding’ and three stars for ‘extraordinary performance’. Only 17% of organisations achieved 3 or 2 star status in the rankings.
Allan Gauld, chief executive, Intrinsic Technology comments: “In spite of challenging times within the IT industry, we have remained focused on our strategy to build the business whilst striving to engage, motivate and reward our staff.
“Despite a worldwide recession we achieved growth in excess of 20% and this 2 star accreditation shows that we have retained a passionate, team-orientated and highly motivated workforce, who are in-turn, providing excellent levels of service to our customers. We are all extremely proud that Intrinsic has again achieved national recognition for all of our constant efforts to ensure it is one of the best companies to work for.”
Despite a turbulent and challenging year, the 2010 Best Companies to Work for Survey shows that staff engagement is still high on the agenda for UK organisations – and that an employee’s relationship with their line manager has become more important in keeping them engaged and motivated than senior leadership.
The Best Companies Accreditation scheme examines employee engagement in the workplace and ranks companies based on results from an employee survey. The survey consists of 70 questions to gain a comprehensive view of employee engagement across eight factors.
